Layers of vanilla sponge with a chocolate sauce filling. Decorated with vanilla buttercream, chocolate sauce drip, Ferrer Rocher, raspberry marshmallows covered in dark chocolate and edible gold leaf, lollipops, Love Hearts and sprinkles.
An amaretto fruit cake covered in marzipan and fondant for Jeremy’s 70th birthday celebration at the weekend. Decorations are a fondant wall, some edible paper ‘posters’ of Jeremy doing a triathlon on the back and a signpost made of wooden lollipop sticks and etched with a pyrography pen.
A two tier lemon sponge cake with lemon buttercream filling. Decoration is rice paper ‘feathers’ sprayed with an edible pearlescent lustre spray on the bottom tier and soft fondant on the top tier with fondant carnations.
A carved W shaped cake this time. The left hand side of the W is lemon cake with lemon curd filling and the right hand side of the W is vanilla sponge with raspberry jam filling.
A 10″ square Amaretto fruit cake decorated with the Yorkshire rose, the LUFC badge from 1973-1976 and photos of the birthday girl and her doggy, all framed in a box frame to look like a framed picture.
A Wintry tree stump cake to round off the week. Made as an after lunch dessert, the cake was a vanilla sponge with jam filling and decorated with coloured vanilla buttercream to look like a tree stump.
